My name is Jennifer Nichols, the owner and teacher of Whole Child Montessori. I am AMS certified in two levels, Preschool and Lower Elementary, with many years of experience at each level. I have a degree in Geology from WWU and I’m married with three kids! For me, teaching after having kids is far different from teaching before kids. I have a whole new outlook on the classroom and my students!
The creation of this school is a dream come true. I feel so fortunate to be able to provide a quality Montessori education in a small environment of 8-10 children where I can be sure that all of their needs are being met.
My mission is to provide a nurturing space for 3-6 year olds to play, socialize and develop a love of learning that will stay with them as they move up to elementary school. The Montessori classroom is a very special place where children connect with materials in ways that some other methods of teaching don’t provide. This hands-on learning will help lead them to higher levels of coordination, concentration, order, and independence. 3-6 year olds want to “do it myself” and this is the perfect environment for them to do just that.
As much as I am looking forward to creating a community within the classroom, I am also looking forward to forming a larger community with the families that create Whole Child Montessori.
